'Vinha das Marias' Named after Ana’s friend and her daughters, both called Maria, this blend of Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca is aged for 18 months in oak. Deep in colour and still very youthful, it shows concentrated blackberry and red berries alongside peppery notes and a lifted floral perfume. The tannins are firm and grippy, giving the wine serious structure, while notes of gingerbread and sweet spice add complexity on the finish. Polished and powerful, it deserves further bottle age to reveal its full potential.

The climatic conditions led to a slight advance in the vegetative cycle compared to the average of the last 5 years, which diminished during the cycle. Despite the occurrence of heavy rainfall during the month of April, the climatic evolution recorded thereafter contributed to an excellent phytosanitary quality of the bunches at harvest. Harvesting generally began towards the end of September, extending slightly later, due to the good weather conditions recorded during this period.
