Savigny les Beaune 1er Cru - Les Lavières 2019

Domaine Chandon de Briailles, located in Savigny-lès-Beaune, is a historic estate in the Côte de Beaune. The domaine cultivates prestigious terroirs in Savigny-lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and on the Corton hill, with an approach focused on allowing each individual parcel to express its natural character. Its wines are distinguished by their finesse, precision and ability to reveal the nuances of Burgundy’s great terroirs.

The Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Lavières comes from a 2.6-hectare parcel, planted in 1956 and situated mid-slope with full southern exposure. The vineyard has clay-rich topsoil with fine layers of limestone lying just 30 to 40 cm below the surface. These thin limestone strata gave the climat its name and provide the Pinot Noir with pronounced minerality, a distinctive saline character and a beautiful floral expression.

Appearance: Bright, deep ruby red with elegant garnet highlights.

Nose: Refined and expressive bouquet of flowers, cherry, raspberry and delicate red berries, complemented by subtle spice and mineral notes.

Palate: Elegant and precise, combining delicate fruit with a fine, balanced structure. The vineyard’s distinctive minerality brings tension and freshness, while refined tannins lead to a long, saline and particularly savoury finish.

Food Pairing: Ideal with duck breast, veal fillet, roast poultry, pigeon, wild mushrooms or mature cheeses.
