Description
Founded in 2012 by Baron Benjamin de Rothschild and the Peabody family, the Rimapere Estate takes its name from the Māori word meaning “five arrows”, the historic emblem of the Rothschild family — symbolising the union of European tradition and New Zealand spirit. Located in the heart of Marlborough, in the north-east of New Zealand’s South Island, the vineyard enjoys a temperate, sunny climate and Rapaura’s alluvial soils of gravel and pebbles, offering ideal conditions for wines of great aromatic purity and freshness.
The Rimapere Sauvignon Blanc stands out for its vibrant freshness, citrus and exotic fruit aromas, and elegant minerality, faithfully reflecting the Marlborough terroir and the precision of the Rothschild winemaking style.
Tasting
Appearance: Bright pale yellow with green hues, clear and luminous—typical of a youthful Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
Nose: The bouquet is intense and expressive, with vibrant citrus notes (lime, lemon, grapefruit), hints of tropical fruit like passion fruit, white blossoms and subtle mineral tones reminiscent of flint.
Palate: Fresh and lively on the palate, with well‑integrated acidity and juicy, precise fruit flavours. Citrus and exotic fruit characters are balanced by refreshing mineral tension.
Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with seafood, oysters, ceviche, grilled fish, fresh salads, and dishes with light spice.
Serving Temperature: Serve well chilled between 8 °C and 10 °C to showcase its freshness and aromatic clarity.
