Description

Vieil-Armagnac Jean Cave 2005 is a premium Armagnac produced by the Jean Cave house, a traditional distillery located in the Armagnac region. This spirit is made from local grape varieties and aged in oak casks to develop complex aromas and remarkable depth. The distillery is known for its artisanal know-how and mastery of the aging process of eaux-de-vie.

Tasting

Appearance: Deep amber colour with copper and golden highlights, clear and bright — reflecting decades of oak barrel ageing.

Nose: Complex and refined nose with prominent aromas of candied fruits, vanilla and spiced oak, along with subtle hints of cocoa and roasted hazelnut that speak to its extended maturation.

Palate: Round and supple on entry, evolving into flavours of dried fruit, fine spices and vanilla, with a structured depth and a persistently elegant woodiness.

Food & Spirit Pairing: Best enjoyed neat as a digestif. Pairs beautifully with a fine cigar, aged cheeses (e.g., Comté or Parmigiano‑Reggiano), intense dark chocolate desserts, or a nut tart to highlight its aromatic complexity.
