Description

Founded in the early 18th century in the Swartland region, Allesverloren is one of South Africa’s oldest wine estates. Its name, meaning “All is Lost” in Afrikaans, originates from a tragic event in 1704: upon returning from a long journey to Stellenbosch—then necessary to obtain tools and attend religious services—the owners discovered their home and farm completely destroyed by fire. Despite these dramatic beginnings, the estate went on to enjoy a remarkable destiny and has become one of the historic benchmarks of South African winemaking. Today, Allesverloren is renowned for its characterful wines that reflect the richness and generosity of the Swartland region.

The Cabernet Sauvignon perfectly illustrates the estate’s style: a structured, elegant and concentrated wine crafted from carefully selected grapes. The 2017 vintage is particularly appreciated for its balance between ripe fruit, natural freshness and ageing potential. This cuvée highlights the full nobility of Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the warm terroirs of Swartland.
