Description
The Cartuxa Reserva Red 2019 is made from a selection of grape varieties such as Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, and Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from the oldest vines on the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation estate. It is here that the finest grapes, harvested from the ideal plots at the ideal time, are carefully selected.
This wine owes its quality to the Carthusian monks who, since 1587, have led a solitary life devoted to prayer at the Santa Maria Scala Coeli monastery in Évora.
It was first produced in 1987.

Tasting
Appearance: It has a deep garnet color.
Nose: Complex aromas of ripe fruit (plum, fig), spicy notes (cinnamon, clove), and hints of balsamic.
Palate: This is a full-bodied wine with firm yet velvety tannins, offering a long, lingering finish.
Serving temperature: Between 16°C and 18°C. Thanks to its full-bodied structure, it pairs perfectly with grilled red meats, roasts, game, and strong, mature cheeses.
