Description
Château Beychevelle, a prestigious estate in Saint-Julien, is a Fourth Growth in the 1855 Classification with a long history deeply rooted in the Médoc. The estate is instantly recognisable by its emblem of a ship with a griffin figurehead, associated with the famous “Baisse-Voile” legend. Finesse, precision and elegance are at the heart of the estate’s winemaking style.
Les Brulières de Beychevelle comes from a 12-hectare vineyard in Cussac-Fort-Médoc, within the Haut-Médoc appellation, approximately five kilometres south of Château Beychevelle. Further from the Gironde estuary, the vineyard enjoys a cooler climate that enhances freshness and fruit purity. It is planted exclusively with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The wine is vinified and matured in a dedicated cellar with the same high standards applied to the estate’s other wines.
Tasting
Although built on fine, ripe tannins, Les Brulières also shows great interest in combining its eucalyptus bouquet with ripe fruit and caramel. It offers suppleness, roundness and persistence in the mouth.
