Description
The first acts of the property's history date back to 1680 when Jean-Baptiste Braneyre, perceiving the extraordinary potential of the gravelly terroirs, acquired a precious piece of the Beychevelle estate. His descendants, the Du Luc family, built the château in 1824.
In the heart of the Médoc, between Margaux and Pauillac, Château Branaire-Ducru is located in the Saint-Julien appellation, surrounded by the other great classified growths of this exceptional terroir.
The vines are planted on a gravelly soil, composed of gravel and pebbles carried by the Garonne in the quaternary period.
