Château Pontet Canet - Cru Classé

Das Château Pontet-Canet, im Herzen des Médoc in Pauillac gelegen, ist ein Grand Cru Classé von 1855. Im Besitz der Familie Tesseron, umfasst das Weingut 81 Hektar und ist ein Vorreiter in der biodynamischen Weinwirtschaft.

Unter der Leitung von Alfred Tesseron verbindet das Château Tradition, Terroir-Respekt und ökologische Innovation. Der von Cabernet Sauvignon geprägte Wein überzeugt durch elegante Kraft, Finesse und ein außergewöhnliches Reifepotenzial.

Pontet-Canet zählt heute zu den bedeutendsten Namen der Appellation Pauillac.

1990

Made from a very early harvest, this wine is rich with a bouquet of spices and tobacco and has a superb velvety mouth-feel. The finish is both flavoursome and balanced and has tremendous length

1994

Unsettled weather conditions had no adverse effect at all on the making of a wine expressing lovely aromas of red berry fruit and notes of eucalyptus. With silky tannins, the palate is beautifully balanced and has superb length of flavour.

1995

A vintage of outstanding weather conditions. This wine has a complex bouquet and shows a touch of age together with notes of fresh fruit.
Creamy tannins and power come through on the palate followed by a stunning spicy finish with great length of flavour.

1996. This vintage was saved by fine anticyclonic conditions just before the harvest. The wine shows wonderful classicism, a superb bouquet of flowers and tobacco as well as great finesse and elegance.

1998

With rain forecast in September, the harvesting was done very quickly and resulted in a wine with a seductive vanilla and floral nose. Its vertical, smooth-textured palate is followed by a lovely lingering fruity finish.

1999

An harvest picked rapidly, gave birth to a very expressive and powerful wine, with notes of spices, tobacco and cherries coming through, mingling harmoniously with the wine's silky tannins.
