Confidences De Prieuré Lichine 2022

“Confidences de Prieuré‑Lichine” is the second wine from Château Prieuré‑Lichine, a 1855 Fourth Growth Grand Cru from the Margaux appellation, located in Cantenac, Gironde. Once a Benedictine priory, the estate was revived as a Bordeaux reference after its acquisition in 1951 by the legendary wine merchant Alexis Lichine.

The “Confidences” wine embodies the estate’s philosophy: using younger vines, meticulous vinification, and offering a more accessible style that keeps the elegance and Médoc character. The aim is to deliver Margaux quality in a friendly, early-drinking format while respecting the identity of the domain.  

Appearance: deep robe, dark ruby color with purple highlights, dense and brilliant.

Nose: seductive aromas of ripe red fruits (cherry, wild berries), sometimes black fruits, with lightly spicy, floral notes and a hint of candied orange peel or citrus zest.

Palate: beautiful supple and velvety texture, silky tannins, good density. The attack is smooth, evolving into juicy and gourmet flesh, with balanced structure, nice freshness and decent length.

Food Pairing: pairs ideally with grilled or sauced red meats, game, rustic dishes, but also roasted poultry or slow-cooked vegetables. Its roundness and smoothness make it a great companion for a convivial meal or a tasting among friends.

Serving Temperature: around 17–18 °C, to allow its aromas to fully develop while preserving freshness and finesse on the palate.
