Description
Dame de Trottevieille, Saint Emilion Grand Cru, 2nd wine of Château Trottevieille 1st Grand Cru Classé, was born in the early 2000s.
Originally from the young vines of Château Trottevieille, this second wine has benefited since the new classification of 2012 from the contribution of the vineyards of Château Bergat.
This wine is characterized by its generous fruit combining the sweetness of the Merlot and the structure of the Cabernet Franc.
Tasting
Appearance: Deep purple with violet flashes, nearly opaque at the core—classic of the ripe 2023 vintage.
Nose: Expressive blackberry and raspberry are laced with subtle floral lift; layers of black licorice, dark cherry, plum conserve, wild sage and damp earth add complexity.
Palate: Supple entry leads to a medium-bodied, velvety mid-palate framed by fresh acidity and polished, well-integrated tannins. A long, sapid finish reprises black-fruit and licorice tones with a faint mineral echo.
Food Pairing: Herb-crusted rack of lamb, pink duck breast, wild-mushroom risotto, or aged cheeses such as 24-month Comté or mature Gouda.
