Corton Gd Cru 2020

Domaine Chandon de Briailles, located in Savigny-lès-Beaune, is a historic estate in the Côte de Beaune. The domaine cultivates prestigious terroirs in Savigny-lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and on the Corton hill, with an approach focused on allowing each individual parcel to express its natural character. Its wines are distinguished by their finesse, precision and ability to reveal the nuances of Burgundy’s great terroirs.

The Corton Grand Cru Blanc comes from three parcels covering a total of 0.5578 hectares, planted in 1980, 1991 and 1998. Two are located within the Les Bressandes climat, traditionally known for red wines, while a smaller third parcel lies in Les Chaumes, directly below the famous Corton-Charlemagne vineyards. This unusual combination of sites produces a great Chardonnay from the Corton hill, combining richness, depth, freshness and minerality,

Appearance: Bright, luminous golden yellow with elegant golden highlights.

Nose: Complex and refined aromas of white flowers, ripe citrus, pear and white-fleshed fruits, complemented by hazelnut, flinty notes and delicate chalky nuances.

Palate: Broad and deep, with generous texture perfectly balanced by beautiful mineral tension. The Chardonnay displays richness and complexity while retaining remarkable freshness. The finish is long, precise, saline and persistent.

Food Pairing: Ideal with roast lobster, scallops, turbot, fine fish in rich sauces, Bresse chicken in cream sauce, sweetbreads or mature Comté.
