Vieil Armagnac 1976

Jean Cave

70cl
Temporarily victim of its own success

Description

Vintages Armagnac.

The Vintages come from one single year of harvest and are never blended with other vintages..
We thus find all the singularity of a vintage; the specificities of one year and a reflection of the climatic  conditions at that time that give it its character today.

Since 1883, the house of Cavé has created a real time machine!

Tasting

Appearance: Deep amber colour with copper and orange highlights, clear and radiant — characteristic of a spirit matured for decades in oak barrels.

Nose: Rich, layered bouquet with candied fruit notes (prune, fig), gentle spices (cinnamon, vanilla), orange peel and noble oak; hints of toasted and rancio-like nuances may emerge with air.

Palate: Smooth, warm entry with elegant structure, revealing ripe fruit, caramel, honey and warm spice flavours, leading to a long, harmonious finish.

Food & Spirit Pairing: Best enjoyed neat as a digestif, paired with aged cheeses (Comté, Parmesan), dark chocolate, a nut tart, or alongside a fine cigar for deep reflection.
