Description

Gevrey is of course the village where the Grand Cru vineyard Chambertin is located. Vines have been cultivated here since 630AD, when a certain Bertin decided to emulate the monks, his neighbors.

The wine he made turned out to be spectacular - and the rest is history!

Tasting

Appearance: Lovely ruby robe, clear, vivid, and bright.

Nose: Intense aromas of black cherry and wild blackberry, lifted by a fine touch of licorice. The oak, discreet and elegant, is subtly integrated. With ageing, notes of spice (nutmeg, leather) develop, followed by hints of mushroom and forest floor.

Palate: Tannins are present yet well-rounded, with no excessive astringency, balanced by pleasant freshness and harmonious body.

Food Pairing: Perfect with spiced duck breast, rabbit with mustard, or matured Brie de Meaux.

Serving Temperature: Recommended 16 °C.

Ageing potential : 15 years

The 2023 Burgundy vintage has produced an elegant and complex Pinot Noir with intense aromas of dark fruits and spices, supported by fine tannins, vibrant freshness, and a long, persistent finish.
