Description
North of Nuits-Saint-Georges, this village is the jewel of the Côte de Nuits. The Gauls of the village of Vaona were recruited to serve 20 years in the troops of the emperor Caesar. He rewarded them by giving them vineyards, which were called "Romanée" by the following generations.
Tasting
Appearance: Bright, intense ruby.
Nose: Refined violet, Morello cherry, strawberry, layered with coffee, chocolate and truffle hints .
Palate: Silky entry, velvety tannins, well-balanced structure, long elegant finish .
Food Pairings: Duck, game birds, fine poultry or rich sauces .
Service Temp.: 16 °C.
"Beautiful deep, luminous red color. The wines offer great aromatic complexity. The nose reveals notes of violet, morello cherry and strawberry, mixed with hints of coffee, chocolate and even truffle. The palate confirms the delicacy of Pinot Noir, with refined aromas supported by silky tannins. The finish is long and elegant."
