Description
Born from expertise passed down through generations and a bold vision of winemaking, Barón de Chirel Reserva embodies the very essence of the Rioja Alavesa.
Crafted exclusively from ancient vines aged between 80 and 110 years, carefully selected for their naturally low yields and exceptional balance, it reflects Marqués de Riscal’s philosophy: creating wines of purity, elegance, and remarkable depth.
Distinguished by its rare aromatic intensity, silky texture, and perfect harmony, Barón de Chirel stands as a true icon of the estate. It unites the nobility of time, the strength of the land, and the grace of human craftsmanship, offering a timeless and masterful interpretation of Rioja.
Tasting
Appearance: Deep ruby-red with garnet highlights; bright and concentrated, showing fine extraction.
Nose: Intense and complex nose with ripe black fruit (blackberry, plum, blackcurrant), accented by liquorice, graphite, violet floral hints, sweet spices (clove, black pepper) and elegant toasted oak (vanilla, cocoa, mild tobacco).
Palate: Bold yet polished entry; ripe, silky tannins and great balance. Dark fruit flavours dominate, layered with toasty and balsamic touches. Long, refined and harmonious finish.
Food Pairing: Ideal with roasted red meats, beef ribeye, duck breast, slow-cooked game, truffle cheese or Manchego. Pairs beautifully with Spanish grilled meats or lamb from Castilla.
