Description
The Distillerie Louis Morand & Cie SA, founded in 1889 in Martigny, is a Swiss family business that has been passing down artisanal know-how through four generations. Rooted in the Valais region, it is renowned for its fruit brandies, liqueurs, and syrups. The name "Morand" is especially associated with Williamine, a pear brandy created in 1953. Today, the distillery is run by the fourth generation and continues to produce high-quality spirits that blend tradition and innovation.
Tasting
Appearance: Crystal-clear, bright robe, typical of well-distilled fruit brandies.
Nose: Intense aromas of ripe mirabelles, with subtle floral notes.
Palate: Clean and fruity attack, with a smooth roundness and a slightly spicy finish.
Food pairings: Ideal as a digestif, it pairs beautifully with fruit-based desserts, blue cheeses, or dark chocolate.
