Description
Perched on the majestic banks of the Douro River, Quinta Boavista is an iconic wine estate entirely devoted to the true expression of its terroir. Under the direction of Ricardo Macedo and the expert guidance of Jean-Claude Berrouet – the legendary oenologist of Château Pétrus – Quinta Boavista produces red wines of remarkable depth, balance, and elegance. Each cuvée reflects a relentless pursuit of excellence, blending Portuguese tradition with Bordeaux savoir-faire to reveal the full complexity of the Douro's finest wines.
Located near Pinhão, on the right bank of the river, Quinta da Boavista offers a breathtaking view over the Douro. Ranked among the most iconic properties in the demarcated region, it is celebrated for both its historical heritage – notably its connection to Baron Forrester – and its 36 hectares of high-quality vineyards.
Vinha do Levante is the first white wine from the Quinta. It is crafted from Arinto and Viosinho grapes, planted in terraces in 2007 on one of the estate’s highest points. Facing east, the vineyard receives the first rays of the sun and is shielded from the intense heat of the late afternoon, thus encouraging a slow and balanced ripening. The result: a white wine of great finesse, where aromatic delicacy and complexity blend seamlessly into an elegant and harmonious structure.
Tasting
To the eye: A lemony, crystalline color catches our eye from the first turns of the glass.
On the Nose: Clear and unctuous, it slowly releases notes of white-fleshed fruit in a combination of lightly aromatic yet fresh herbs, creating a highly refined and complex combination.
On the palate: creamy and refreshing, an extremely pleasurable and addictive wine, whether for its mineral sensation or the spicy aftertaste it leaves us with. A wine full of personality and character.
Food & wine pairing: fish, seafood and cheese.
