Description
Weingut Obrecht is a family estate based in Jenins in the Bündner Herrschaft, one of the leading wine-growing areas of the Swiss canton of Graubünden. Christian and Francisca Obrecht practise biodynamic viticulture and favour a low-intervention approach in the cellar. Their current philosophy places particular emphasis on finesse, freshness and terroir expression, with Pinot Noir playing a central role.
Monolith Pinot Noir is the estate’s flagship wine, produced from biodynamically grown Pinot Noir from Jenins and Malans. The vines grow on sandy loam, weathered siliceous limestone and Bündner schist. Following a period of cold maceration, the grapes ferment spontaneously in wooden vats before ageing for one year in barriques. Bottled without filtration, Monolith combines impressive depth and power with finely nuanced aromas, freshness and elegance.
