'Vinha das Marias' Named after Ana’s friend and her daughters, both called Maria, this blend of Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca is aged for 18 months in oak. Deep in colour and still very youthful, it shows concentrated blackberry and red berries alongside peppery notes and a lifted floral perfume. The tannins are firm and grippy, giving the wine serious structure, while notes of gingerbread and sweet spice add complexity on the finish. Polished and powerful, it deserves further bottle age to reveal its full potential.

Winemaker Ana Rola along with her best friend Helga Rodrigues, an architect from Douro, and José Serpa Pimentel set off in search of unique vineyards with the ultimate goal of creating wines with individual personalities. High quality wines with distinguished personalities. The result of the dedication consistently applied in all methods and procedures.

Appearance: Deep ruby color with a slight garnet rim.

Nose: Very aromatic and elegant.

Palate: The fruity character of this wine comes through fully despite its long aging in oak barrels. Ripe fruit, black plum, spices, and woody notes. A well-balanced wine, combining smoothness and fullness, with a long, lingering finish, making this ROLA a very elegant wine.

It can be enjoyed now, but has excellent aging potential for the next 10 years.
