Description
Founded in the 13th century, Château Pape Clément is one of Bordeaux's oldest wine estates. Classified as a Cru Classé de Graves, it takes its name from Pope Clement V, the former Archbishop of Bordeaux. Under the ownership of Bernard Magrez, the estate has become one of the benchmark producers of Pessac-Léognan, combining meticulous vineyard management with exceptional winemaking expertise.
Clémentin de Pape Clément is the second wine of Château Pape Clément. Produced from a rigorous selection of younger vineyard parcels, it benefits from the same meticulous care as the Grand Vin. It beautifully expresses the elegance, finesse and signature character of Pessac-Léognan in a refined and approachable style.
Tasting
Appearance: Deep ruby-red colour with purple highlights.
Nose: Elegant aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry and plum, complemented by violet, cedar, graphite, tobacco and delicate spice notes.
Palate: Fresh and precise with silky tannins and excellent balance. Ripe black fruit, subtle smoky notes and the characteristic minerality of the Graves terroir lead to a long, elegant finish.
Food Pairing: Perfect with beef tenderloin, rack of lamb, duck breast, roast poultry, mushrooms, truffles and mature cheeses.
