Carmes de Rieussec 2020

Located in Fargues in the heart of Sauternes, Château Rieussec has been classified as a Premier Cru Classé since 1855. Owned by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) since 1984, the estate is regarded as one of Bordeaux's finest producers of sweet wines.

Carmes de Rieussec is the château's second wine, crafted with the same attention to detail while offering a fresher and more approachable expression of the estate.

Appearance: Bright pale golden colour with luminous reflections.

Nose: Delicate aromas of rhubarb, white peach, fresh apricot and white flowers, evolving towards warm stone, dried herbs, subtle honey and mineral nuances.

Palate: Fresh and lively on entry with excellent balance. Rich yet refined, revealing flavours of candied apricot, peach, citrus and delicate buttery notes. The finish is long, elegant and lifted by hints of Muscat and vibrant acidity.

Food Pairing: Perfect with foie gras, lobster, mildly spicy Asian cuisine, creamy poultry dishes, Roquefort, yellow fruit desserts, lemon tart or simply enjoyed on its own.
