Description
For 130 years, the house has been in the hands of the family. Today, the fourth generation continues the quest for that "elegant perfection" for which Joseph Drouhin wines are known, by perpetuating tradition and innovating.
The Domaine Joseph Drouhin has been built up over the decades and now comprises 73 hectares in the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise and Chablis.
With approximately 90 appellations, made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, Joseph Drouhin offers a fascinating discovery of the Burgundian terroir, with respect for the land, the vines and the environment.
Tasting
"Admittedly, the wine's colour is unrivalled when it comes to catching the light: bright, brilliant, a beautiful cherry red. But it's the first taste that reveals the prodigy: berries? not at all, rose or hawthorn? not either, spices? yes: pepper, nutmeg, a touch of paprika and... pepper. The aroma is there, but distinguished, subtle, homeopathic. On the palate, there are other pleasures in store, no harshness but a lovely construction where sap and tannin come together gracefully and velvety."
