Vallado 2023

Founded in 1716, Quinta do Vallado is one of the most historic estates in Portugal’s Douro Valley. Located near Peso da Régua, the winery is connected to the Ferreira family, descendants of the legendary Port wine figure Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira. Today the estate is widely recognized for producing elegant wines that reflect the unique character of the Douro region.

The Vallado is a classic red wine of the estate made from traditional Portuguese grape varieties. Grown on the region’s characteristic schist soils, the wine displays a balanced and elegant style with aromas of red and dark fruits complemented by subtle spice notes.

Appearance: Deep ruby red colour with violet reflections.

Nose: Expressive aromas of cherry, blackberry and plum with hints of spice and floral nuances.

Palate: Smooth and balanced entry. Fruity and elegant palate with fine tannins and good freshness. Persistent finish with ripe fruit notes.

Food Pairing: Ideal with grilled meats, slow-cooked dishes, roasted lamb or aged cheeses.

Serving Temperature: Serve between 16–18 °C.
