Description
Jean-Michel Novelle is a winegrower and creator based at Le Grand Clos in Satigny, Geneva. The family estate covers approximately seven hectares, and Novelle has developed a highly individual approach to blending.
The Empreinte collection deliberately combines several grape varieties and vintages. These wines are therefore non-vintage, with a creation year indicated on the back label.
Tasting
Appearance: The precise appearance of the current creation is not documented in the sources consulted.
Nose: Expressive citrus and yellow-fruit aromas, complemented by distinctive saline and iodine-like nuances. Published tastings also mention orange zest, lime and mandarin.
Palate: Dynamic and vibrant, driven by crisp acidity, salinity and refined bitters. The wine’s distinctive umami character reinforces its maritime identity, leading to a long, fresh finish.
Food Pairing: An excellent partner for seafood, particularly oysters, langoustines and citrus-dressed octopus.
