Located in Suvereto, along the Tuscan coast, Tenuta Petra is the result of the visionary project of the Moretti family, also owners of Bellavista in Franciacorta. The estate is a symbol of harmony between nature, architecture and winemaking excellence. Its striking winery, designed by architect Mario Botta, reflects Petra’s philosophy — a fusion of tradition, innovation and deep respect for the land.

The wine Petra is the estate’s signature cuvée — a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and occasionally Cabernet Franc — born from gravelly, mineral-rich and maritime soils that impart both depth and refinement. It perfectly embodies the spirit of the Maremma Toscana: generous, structured, and elegantly Mediterranean.

Appearance: deep ruby colour with garnet highlights, bright and clear.

Nose: complex and precise bouquet combining ripe black fruit (blackcurrant, blackberry), fine spices, graphite and subtle saline notes reminiscent of the nearby sea breeze.

Palate: generous and structured attack, with firm yet velvety tannins. The fruit is balanced by a refreshing minerality and gentle acidity. Long, harmonious finish marked by elegance and depth, showcasing the noble expression of Cabernet.

Food Pairing: excellent with grilled rib-eye steak, roasted lamb, game meats or aged hard cheeses.

Serving Temperature: serve between 16 °C and 18 °C. Decant one hour before serving for young vintages.
