Description
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is an Italian red wine made primarily from the Montepulciano grape, cultivated in the Abruzzo region, located between the Apennine mountains and the Adriatic Sea. Classified as Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) since 1968, this wine is known for its deep color, fruity aromas, and soft tannins. It is produced in all four provinces of Abruzzo: L'Aquila, Chieti, Pescara, and Teramo. Subzones like Colline Teramane achieved DOCG status in 2003, reflecting the superior quality of their wines.
