Description
Brolio Bettino is produced by Barone Ricasoli, one of Italy’s oldest wine estates, based at Castello di Brolio in Tuscany. The Ricasoli family, owners since 1141, carry on centuries‑old viticultural traditions combining heritage and modern winemaking.
The Brolio Bettino cuvée pays tribute to Bettino Ricasoli, who, in 1872, defined the original formula of modern Chianti Classico. This wine represents the historic identity of Chianti: a pure Sangiovese, vinified unfiltered, aged in large wood casks — a style initiated by Bettino himself.
Tasting
Appearance: deep ruby‑red colour, tending towards garnet depending on age.
Nose: ripe red and dark fruit (cherry, plum), sometimes floral hints (violet, lavender), plus spice and subtle wood or earth.
Palate: well structured, lively acidity, firm yet silky tannins, long finish; balanced fruit, spices, with a hint of minerality and earthiness.
Food Pairings: red meat (beef, veal, light game), red poultry, casseroles, tomato‑based pasta, Tuscan salumi — the wine’s structure and acidity match rich and savory dishes.
Serving Temperature: 16–18 °C recommended.
